Statement of solidarity to the 300 hunger strikers in Greece

To the hunger strikers:

London NoBorders support your struggle and demand that the Greek government gives you legal status immediately. You are amongst hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrant workers that are being exploited in Europe because of your immigration status and we are in solidarity with all struggles for the right to live and work in dignity. We believe in freedom of movement and the right to stay and call for an end to all border controls.

[video] Noborders vs Coast Guards, Lesvos, 2009

Documentary about a protest during the Noborder Camp in Lesvos in summer 2009.

A stop in hell: Pagani, a prison for migrants at the gate of Fortress Europe

The Greek island of Lesvos is just a short sail from the Turkish coast - you can see Turkey from the island. Here many migrants try crossing into Europe, usually on inflatable boats. Frontex patrols the coast to prevent them from landing; those who land may be detained in one of the most appalling prisons for migrants we have ever seen or heard of.
