Barbed Wire Britain, the Network to End Migrant and Refugee Detention, are holding a conference next Saturday 14th October 2006, 10.30am-4.30pm, at the Human Rights Action Centre (Amnesty International UK,17-25 New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA.
The aims include:
1. To establish a clear coordinated strategy for the national campaign, by sharing experiences and best practice and devising an action plan for the future.
2. To continue momentum established by detainees' actions, by the new London Against Detention, campaigning on medical issues, activities in Manchester, Scotland, Oxford and other initiatives, parliamentary action etc.
3. To bring together current campaigners from across the country.
