Today, Monday 19th September, was the first day of the planned eviction of Dale Farm. The entrance to the site had been barricaded and travellers and activists gathered both inside and outside. Bailiffs were due to come onto the site at 8am, but did not appear til 3pm, when they entered the access road from the adjacent field to give a "final warning" about their health and safety concerns over the barricade, before leaving to heckles. Then around 4.30pm, news spread that a court application for an injunction had been successful. Basildon Council have been asked to provide more specific info about the eviction and any eviction action cannot take place until after the High Court hearing on Friday.
