Hackney Migrant Centre is a weekly drop-in providing immigration, welfare and health advice, social support and food, and ESOL classes to refugees and other migrants in need.
Last year over 500 people used the centre and numbers are increasing rapidly.
The centre is funded solely by grants and donations, and relies on the work of volunteers and donations from local shops.

Hackney Refugee & Migrant Support Group is a campaign group set up in 1996 in response to attacks on asylum seekers' rights, and to support a number of local anti-deportation campaigns.
Some battles have been won, but attacks are increasing.
HRMSG meets monthly and supports individuals and wider campaigns for migrants' rights, and tries to raise awareness.
