Open Space launch! Tuesday 15th July

Come along to the Launch of OpenSpace Tuesday 15 July – everyone welcome!

OpenSpace is a weekly space where asylum-seekers, activists, local people and anyone fighting immigration controls can gather to organise campaigns, share skills and resources or just hang out.

What goes on at OpenSpace will be decided by those who use it - suggestions and ideas are welcome! It is intended that OpenSpace will be run by whoever uses it. Their priorities will determine the activities and resources of the space.

Upstairs a small room is available which can be used as a crèche, office space or library. Downstairs there is a larger shop front space which can be used for workshops, banner-making, political discussions, film screenings, projects, language classes or a free shop. There is a small kitchen for cooking food and making tea and coffee. There will also space be some storage space.

People reporting to Communications House can go to the space before and after signing. They are welcome to leave details of friends, relatives or solicitors to be alerted if they are detained.

8.30am Coffee & Breakfast
Morning English Lessons
Film Screening
12-2pm Lunch
3pm Workshop
4pm Discussion on how the space could be used
