Between 400-600 migrants who are sleeping rough in the area demonstrated in Calais on Friday in protest plans to close down their camps around town.

No Borders Info Tour 2009: Scotland 7th – 16th May

The No Borders Info Tour 2009 aims to encourage discussion and build
awareness of the injustices of the UK and European border regimes, as
well as to call for action against them.

The Tour is traveling through Scotland in May 2009, on its journey
through the UK to the French town of Calais, an outpost of the UK border system.

Here, from 23-29 June, the Tour will join with activists and
organizations from France and Europe to create a No Border Camp
highlighting the brutal situation for migrants stuck at the UK-French
Border.

Stop Deportation Benefit in Hackney, Saturday April 25th

The Stop Deportation Network are having a benefit and info night on Saturday, 25th April. Proceeds will go to funding campaigning and direct action against deportations and charter flights.

Films will include shorts of the Tinsley blockade and other actions and interviews with Iraqi deportees conducted in Iraqi Kurdistan after they were deported. Speakers will include Dashti Jamal of the International Federation of Iraqi Refugees.
